Western Canada Fashion Week Pt. 2

The show last night featuring Anika Designs took my breathe away! From the couture, the performance and the music, Anika sure knows how to put on a show. Styled by Amandeep Matharu of Deep Mode new just the amount of sass to put on a good show!

It’s always nice to have that East Indian flare to a show as big as Western Canada Fashion Week. Below is a video of Javeda By Aman Dhalay, a Calgary based designer who has wowed the crowd at last night’s show.

Latest Ad Campaign from Dolce & Gabbana

They’re two of the hottest faces in Hollywood, so it would only make sense that Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey front Dolce & Gabbana’s latest campaign.

Fashion & Film

Massimo Dutti Canada Fall Winter ‘ 13: The Film.
Directed by: Hunter & Gatti

What I love about this designer is that they used film to showcase their FW 13 collection. As seen here as well with the perfume Guerlain:

Massimo Dutti was founded in 1985 in Barcelona, Spain and was acquired by Inditex in 1991. It now has over 673 stores in more than 64 countries.

The brand was originally aimed at men’s fashion. Starting in 1992, women’s fashion was launched in all its dimensions: from the most urban lines to the more casual. With this, Massimo Dutti has consolidated at all levels as a group with national and international growth, which today has over 4,000 employees.

In 2003, Massimo Dutti launched a children’s fashion range under the trade name Massimo Dutti Boys & Girls. This line is being implemented progressively in stores in several countries, where the stores are large enough to house its specific space.

MANual 0.3

Hayden Christiansen, best known for his roles in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, New York, I Love You and Jumper, started designing his own line of clothing with help from RW & Co. I guess that’s what happens when your acting career hasn’t kicked into full gear. You can check out the new line here.

Good for him for designing this line of menswear. Should be interesting to see where this takes off from here or if he remains a cameo designer.

MANual 0.2

A little men’s fashion tip for today.
helmIf you haven’t already checked out 104th Street’s The Helm then you’re missing out. Part of my spring MANual here is a look at the Helm’s favourite Spring picks. Be sure to check out the store located on Edmonton’s 4th Street Promenade: 10125104 Street.

Tip For The Day:
For those looking for something to do Friday night, make sure you hit up The Bower to hear this guy ~ Marlon English spin. He will be in Edmonton monthly for the Bower’s (Semi Monthly) Strictly Goods night. A little hip hop, a little funk and a lot of soul.
