Moon Sun Fire | It’s Time to Bloom

Moon Sun Fire

Over this last weekend in April, I took part in a 3 day Kundalini, Sattva and meditation experience with It’s Time to Bloom. This journey, tapping into a new experience, was enlightening as it created strength and emotions in me I didn’t know existed. By channeling the planetary elements you harness awareness and focus onto the root of a healing process. When you’re in a room full of yogi’s, the energy has run wild, there was an aura of light around everyone.

What is Kundalini? Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan ® is also known as the Yoga of Awareness; its focus is on self-awareness and delivering an experience of your highest consciousness. The technology of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan ® is a science of the mind and body, to elevate the spirit, which has no boundaries, no discrimination. Therefore it is for everyone, universal and nondenominational.

Now, I’m not a connoisseur of yoga, but I appreciate using the weight and strength of your breath and body to practice or to meditate. This wasn’t a $1 Yoga Mat for Sale situation by any means, I felt as though I finally learned what discipline is. Once I learned that I would be sitting cross-legged for some time I had to really push past the pain and listen to what my head and what my heart was telling me. Don’t get me wrong, I think I screamed internally after I lost all feeling in my legs during one of the kundalini sequences on the first day. However, going into the second day, I knew what to expect, and I persevered through the meditation…one of which turned out to be a 31 min sequence (!). I must say, that throughout this weekend, I feel as though I have been transformed. It wasn’t until Day 3, that I truly felt the significance of this workshop and the energy in the room was so powerful you could feel everyone vibrating next to you.

I’ve been able to hone in on my breath and my ability to try something new and educate myself. The number one thing I took away from this experience is to have an open mind, believe in myself and know that there’s something bigger than just being. The power we have within is so strong, I feel humbled and honoured to have been apart of it.

Here is a quick recap and few interviews I’ve compiled over the weekend:

You don’t want to miss out on the Sound Healing event in June with Torkomji – stay tuned for updates at It’s Time to Bloom.

Serendipity

We know it’s snowy and windy out there but that shouldn’t stop you from being fashionable at a fashionable launch party!

Head to Bamboo Ballroom this evening after work to check out this new Edmonton based designer Kelsey McIntyre. There will be refreshments to quench your thirst, a photo-booth and of course, all of Serendipity’s new Spring/Summer collection!

The Serendipity line is, indeed, serendipitous. Creator, Kelsey McIntyre’s love of all things vintage and girly is reflected perfectly in her collection of beautiful dresses, feminine skirts, chic tops and perfectly fitted pants. The Serendipity girl loves to picnic on a warm summer day, and curl up with a good book and coffee when the snow begins to fall. She is unashamedly girly, and captures a sense of romance and magic in her intricately detailed garments.

MANual 0.1

To the men who follow my blog, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce a new series called “MANual“. This will feature top fashion, trends, local restaurant gems, and perhaps I’ll throw in a few post script notes on “Did you know?…”, “Tips on Etiquette…” and “Keep Your Eye On…”. From the female perspective (or just mine).

Stay tuned for lunch segments and Edmonton trends for mens fashion, decor, the odd Scotch post and more!
